Is it possible to Airplay from an iPad or iPhone to an iMac?

Yes, it is possible. I do this regularly. You need an application on your mac for this. I use AirServer, but there are others.
With AirServer on your iMac, it becomes an AirPlay device, and you can use it with an iPhone, iPad, or even another mac.
Hi Carolyn, Thank for responding. I had already looked at that link. It is more for connecting an iPhone or iPad, using a cable, to a monitor. My question was using AirPlay to an iMac. But thanks again.
Hi Luis, Thank you for responding. That is what i am looking for. I downloaded the app, and activated the 7 day trial. I was able to mirror my phone, but when i tried to AirPlay from say, Netflix, it crashed and gave an error message. At least i now know it can be done. I will just have to keep researching. Thanks.
